Connecticut State Council News  John Harrity Elected President2/6/2012John Harrity was unanimously elected President of the Connecticut State Council of Machinists, January 29, 2012, at the Business Meeting of our January Conference held in Cromwell, CT. He comes fully qualified, has the needed political experience and is held in great respect by Connecticut's progressive politicians at both the State and the federal level as well as by the leadership and members here in Connecticut. Long time President James M. Parent, who is retiring the end of February, made a choice not to run. Jim will be greatly missed; his contributions to the Council have been unmeasureable. He has earned a long, joyous retirement but we know he will be politically involved through his Local Lodge 1746. |
